Cost Optimization Center
The Cost Optimization Center is how an organization scales AI usage without scaling surprises. As adoption grows, so does spend; it keeps that spend visible, attributable, and deliberate.
The Command Center’s Cost Optimization Center has five pages:
- Overview — spend and savings at a glance.
- Token Usage — how many tokens your workspace uses, and where.
- Model Consumption — spend broken down by model.
- Cost Tracking — spend so far in the current billing period, and where it went.
- Optimization — where the same work could cost less.
They are open to anyone with the reporting capability. See the Capability matrix.
Usage reporting
Section titled “Usage reporting”You can’t manage what you can’t see. Usage reporting shows where run balance is going — which teams, which workflows, which agents drive consumption. Every other lever builds on knowing where the money goes. It draws on the same data as adoption & usage analytics.
Department-level tracking
Section titled “Department-level tracking”Attributing cost to the teams that generate it turns AI from a mystery line item into something each team can see as its own. When Sales’ usage is Sales’ number, ownership follows. This is what Teams & departments unlocks on the billing side.
Model-selection strategy
Section titled “Model-selection strategy”Different models cost differently. A deliberate strategy — strong models where quality matters, cheaper models for high-volume routine work — is one of the biggest levers on cost. Admins set which models are allowed. See Guardrails & allowed models.
Spend controls
Section titled “Spend controls”The control Rival enforces on spend is the per-run cost cap: with it on, any tool priced above the cap per run (default $25) needs an admin’s approval before a member runs it. See Guardrails & allowed models.
Rival does not currently set budgets per team or cap a team’s monthly spend. Use Cost Tracking to watch spend against the number you have in mind.
A quick example
Section titled “A quick example”Finance turns on the per-run cost cap, routes high-volume tasks to a cheaper model, and reviews Cost Tracking each week. Adoption keeps climbing, expensive runs still get a second look, and every dollar traces to a team.
